The project began with a deep dive into Levi’s existing, largely manual process for designing and finishing jeans. To truly understand their workflow, our team traveled to San Francisco to observe the designers in action. Through on-site sessions and open discussions, I sought to uncover how digital tools could fit within their current process, identify key pain points, and understand what slowed production from concept to completion. Seeing their process firsthand—spanning roughly 20 steps and numerous challenges—provided invaluable insight directly from the people who would ultimately use the new system.
With a clear picture of the problem, I moved quickly into design. Working closely with Levi’s and the Savvy Apps team, I developed and tested wireframes through rapid iterations, incorporating immediate feedback from stakeholders. This agile approach ensured the workflows and interface aligned seamlessly with the designers’ needs while meeting a tight project timeline.
The result was a transformative digital tool that enabled Levi’s designers to produce high-quality jean concepts efficiently and sustainably. By eliminating the need for physical materials and chemical processes, the new system not only accelerated production but also significantly reduced environmental impact—reshaping how Levi’s approached design and innovation across the brand.
